Commonly Asked Questions
1. Is a hog roast only for outdoor events?
Not at all. Our hog roast system is clean, efficient and fully self-contained, which means we can set up just as comfortably inside a venue, marquee or hotel as we can outdoors. We regularly cater inside event spaces and work within the requirements of most venues.
2. What if the weather is bad?
We offer a pre-bookable weather package for outdoor hog roasts. This isn’t something that can be arranged last-minute, so if you’re planning an outdoor event and want the peace of mind of covered equipment, please mention this at enquiry stage and we’ll build it into your quote.
3. How is a hog roast typically served?
We offer three styles of service, and you can choose the one that suits your event best:
- Sharing Platters: relaxed, social, and perfect for guests to help themselves
- Hand-held Feast: informal, easy-to-eat food ideal for evening receptions or standing gatherings
- Seated Service: a more structured sit-down experience with full table service
Not sure which suits your event? Just ask and we’re happy to talk it through.
4. Can you provide plates, cutlery and service staff?
Yes. For seated hog roast events, we can include crockery, cutlery and front-of-house service staff. Just let us know what you need when you enquire and we’ll include it in your quote.
5. Can you cater for dietary requirements and allergies?
Absolutely. We take dietary requirements seriously and every guest matters to us. We routinely cater for:
- Vegetarian and vegan guests with full, considered menu options, not an afterthought
- Gluten-free and coeliac requirements
- Dairy-free and lactose intolerance
- Nut allergies, including severe/anaphylactic cases
- Halal and Kosher requirements, please discuss at enquiry stage
- Other named allergens covered under the 14 major UK allergens
All our food comes with full allergen information. For larger events and corporate bookings, written allergen documentation is provided as standard. We ask that you share dietary details with us in advance so we can plan carefully, the more notice, the better. Nothing is too much trouble.
6. How much does a hog roast cost?
Our hog roast catering starts from £9.45 per head (VAT inclusive). The final price depends on your guest numbers, style of service and any additions such as service staff or cover. Tell us about your event and we’ll get a tailored quote back to you.
7. Do you offer menu tastings before we book?
We don’t offer tastings for hog roast events — it’s not something that works practically for this style of catering. What we can do is talk you through exactly what to expect, share details on our produce and preparation, and answer any questions you have before you commit.
