Celebration of Life Catering
Comforting food served with care
Our Celebration of Life Catering Service
At difficult moments, food can offer comfort in a way that words often cannot.
Our funeral catering service is there when you need it, to make the ‘wake’ less stressful. Whether you are gathering at home, a place of worship, a village hall or another venue, we provide simple, well-prepared food delivered with discretion and respect. When we say ‘simple’, we don’t mean bland or tasteless, but it does mean food you can eat easily and will suit a wider range of preferences.
Everything is handled gently and professionally, from planning through to service on the day. Menus are designed to suit the occasion, usually comforting, familiar and generously prepared with consideration for different preferences and dietary needs. Service is unobtrusive and unhurried, creating space for conversation, reflection and shared remembrance.
We work quietly in the background, ensuring everything runs smoothly without adding pressure at an already emotional time. For many families, knowing that the food is taken care of brings a small but meaningful sense of relief.
If there’s something that would add to the occasion, please let us know. A favourite dish, a special cake or a personal touch that means something to you – just let us know.

Commonly Asked Questions
Whether you’re planning a wake, a memorial, or a celebration of a life well lived, we’re here to take the catering off your hands entirely. Quietly, professionally and with real care.
1. What catering options do you offer for a Celebration of Life?
We offer two approaches, and many families choose a combination of both:
- Full service — we arrive, set up, serve and clear away. Includes service staff, all crockery and equipment, and beverages if required
- Drop-off — we prepare and deliver your food, ready for you to lay out and serve at your own pace. Everything arrives presented and ready to go
Both options are available with or without canapés, and we can include or exclude tea, coffee and cold drinks depending on your preference.
2. Can I choose the menu, or suggest what we’d like?
Absolutely. This is your event and the food should reflect that. We actively encourage families to share their wishes, whether that’s a favourite dish, a regional speciality, or food that simply meant something to the person you’re remembering. Tell us your story and we’ll build the menu around it.
3. What about alcohol? Do you provide drinks?
We provide the glassware and experienced service staff to pour and serve. Families supply their own alcohol, which gives you full control over what’s served and at what cost. We’ll make sure everything is handled with care and discretion on the day. If you’d like recommendations for local suppliers, we’re happy to help.
4. Can you include tea, coffee and cold drinks?
Yes. We can provide hot drinks either as a staffed service, where a member of our team pours and serves throughout, or as a drop-off, leaving everything set up and ready for you to manage. Cold drinks are also available to add to your booking.
5. How far do you travel for Celebration of Life events?
We are primarily based in Cornwall and the majority of our wake and memorial catering takes place locally. We do travel further afield, and minimum booking requirements apply for events outside our area. Please get in touch with your location and we’ll confirm availability and any travel costs.
6. Is the food locally sourced?
Yes. We source from local and regional producers wherever possible — it’s something we’re committed to across all of our catering, not just for this service.
7. Can you cater for dietary requirements and allergies? Can you cater for dietary requirements and allergies?
Absolutely. We take dietary requirements seriously and every guest matters to us. We routinely cater for:
- Vegetarian and vegan guests with full, considered menu options, not an afterthought
- Gluten-free and coeliac requirements
- Dairy-free and lactose intolerance
- Nut allergies, including severe/anaphylactic cases
- Halal and Kosher requirements, please discuss at enquiry stage
- Other named allergens covered under the 14 major UK allergens
All our food comes with full allergen information. For larger events and corporate bookings, written allergen documentation is provided as standard. We ask that you share dietary details with us in advance so we can plan carefully, the more notice, the better. Nothing is too much trouble.
